Two-Man Assault Craft

Below are some pictures and specifications of an unusual craft I purchased a number of years ago. Any comments are welcome at the e-mail address at the bottom of the page.

Aluminium skin riveted over frames not unlike an airframe, with a total length of 18’6’’

Craft is split into three sections, and divides easily via locking pins.

Bow section - Watertight compartment with large hatch.

image7.jpg (46738 bytes)Mid-ships - Two open seating positions similar to a two-man canoe. Outrigger floats on lockable slides. Shaped mounting plate and catches for spade anchor. Square section mast foot just in front of the forward seating position and corresponding mast mounting in deck. Large Brass Bilge Pump on deck between seating positions drawing water via a deck fitting and hose.

Stern section -

Internal:- There are mounts for a small engine, possibly Royal Enfield, and cylindrical fuel tank, plus an integral prop tube and cooling water inlet pipe with exhaust connection to the top.

External:- Rudder mounts similar to a drop-on type for a sailing dinghy. A large hatch sealed by over-centre catches. A Brass Bilge Pump passing through the deck to below the engine mounts. A throttle cable entry gland. Two air intakes made watertight by pressing a plunger on top. Outrigger bearing for the propshaft.

The plan is to restore the craft at some point in the future. So any help locating an engine, fittings, or any information would be appreciated.
